Part Time Custodian Position

Terra Academy is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to assist with the maintenance, upkeep, and general care of school facilities. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional learning environment for students and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout school buildings and facilities.

● Complete limited outdoor maintenance and groundskeeping duties as needed.

● Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and needed repairs.

● Assist with furniture assembly, moving equipment, and classroom or office setups.

● Support building preparation for school activities, events, and special projects.

● Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an orderly manner.

● Follow school safety procedures and use equipment appropriately.

● Complete additional maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

● General maintenance, repair, or custodial experience preferred.

● Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.

● Ability to work independently and follow directions.

● Dependable, punctual, and able to manage assigned tasks efficiently.

● Ability to communicate effectively and work professionally around students and staff.

● Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment.

● Ability to pass required background checks and meet school employment requirements.

Work Schedule and Compensation

● Part-time hours scheduled primarily after school hours, outside the regular student day.

● Weekly hours and work schedule will be determined by school needs.

● Occasional flexibility may be needed to support school events, facility needs, or special maintenance projects.

● Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.

Work Environment

This position primarily involves indoor maintenance and minor repairs in a school environment, with limited outdoor maintenance responsibilities. Duties may involve the use of tools and equipment, moving furniture, and completing physical tasks. The employee is expected to maintain professional boundaries and follow all school policies and safety procedures.
