School Counselor | On-Site

Position Summary

Terra Academy Charter School seeks a on-site School Counselor responsible for delivering academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling services. The counselor will manage a defined caseload, support student interventions, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and contribute to overall student performance and school accountability goals. This position reports to the School Principal.

Primary Responsibilities

Counseling & Student Services

● Provide individual and group counseling aligned to student needs.

● Conduct risk assessments and coordinate crisis response as required.

● Maintain a structured caseload and document all services provided.

● Develop and monitor intervention plans in collaboration with instructional staff.

Academic Oversight

● Develop and manage student class schedules

● Responsible for creating the overall school schedule by working with key stakeholders to

establish optimal class options aligned with school leader objectives and teacher

licences.

● Monitor student academic progress and attendance data.

● Support course planning and graduation requirement tracking.

● Identify at-risk students and coordinate targeted interventions.

College & Career Planning

● Oversee college and career readiness programming.

● Manage transcript requests, recommendation processes, and application timelines.

● Coordinate FAFSA completion and scholarship guidance.

● Track post-secondary outcomes data.

Compliance & Reporting

● Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and state law.

● Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS processes as applicable.

● Ensure timely completion of required reports and documentation.

● Complete records and reports in SIS, USBE and other official record systems.

Collaboration

● Work with administrators and teachers to address academic and behavioral concerns.

● Participate in student support team meetings.

● Provide staff with relevant student support information within legal guidelines.

● Work as part of the Student Services team, in support of students and school objectives.

Qualifications

Required:

● Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field, Or Bachelor's Degree with enrollment in a School Counselor program prior to SY2026-27

● Valid state School Counselor license/certification or eligibility to obtain School Counselor Lic prior to SY2026-27

● Experience working in a K–12 educational setting

● Strong organizational and documentation skills

● Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred:

● Experience in a charter school environment

● Knowledge of state graduation and college admission requirements

● Experience with student data systems

Work Conditions

● Part-time, Extended School year, on-site position

Terra Academy Girls Basketball Coach for 2026-2027 Season

Position Summary
The Coach is responsible for leading and developing a competitive program that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic achievement. This position coaches student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition while fostering a positive environment that promotes personal growth, an appreciation for the sport, and adherence to the mission and values of the charter school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Holds organizational meetings for prospective team members and actively encourages student participation.
2. Evaluates players’ abilities and assigns positions based on skill level and team needs.
3. Develops and implements a structured, regular practice schedule that supports both individual skill enhancement and overall team development.
4. Coordinates with the Athletic Director to schedule gym and facility use for practices and competitions.
5. Delegates responsibilities to assistant coaches, as needed.
6. Provides instruction to players—individually and in groups—regarding volleyball rules, techniques, equipment use, and game strategies.
7. Observes and analyzes players during practices and competitions to identify opportunities for improvement and adjusts coaching methods accordingly.
8. Develops game strategies that align with team strengths and competitive goals.
9. Establishes and upholds standards of student-athlete conduct, ensuring proper supervision and safety at all times.
10. Monitors student-athlete academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met and encourages students to maintain high academic standards.
11. Follows established protocols for managing and reporting athlete injuries.
12. Communicates with parents/guardians regarding player performance, expectations, and concerns as necessary.
13. Ensures compliance with all state, regional, league, and charter school policies governing athletics.
14. Demonstrates and models exemplary sportsmanship and professional behavior toward players, officials, opponents, and spectators.
15. Serves as a representative of the school and actively promotes the volleyball program within the school community.
16. Oversees the proper care, maintenance, and inventory of athletic equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
17. Maintains accurate records including eligibility documentation, equipment inventories, schedules, and other required reports.
18. Models inclusive and non-discriminatory practices in all coaching activities and interactions.
Qualifications
 Previous coaching experience or competitive volleyball experience preferred.
 Strong knowledge of girl’s basketball techniques, rules, and strategies.
 Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
 Commitment to supporting student achievement and upholding school values.
 CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
 Must meet all state and school background check requirements.


Senior Special Education Teacher (K–12) Full-Time School Year: 2026-2027
Position Summary
Terra Academy Charter School is seeking a compassionate, patient, and student-centered Senior Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs across K–12. This role requires a dedicated educator who believes every student can succeed when provided with individualized support, inclusive instruction, and a nurturing learning environment. The Senior Special Education Teacher will collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to design and implement effective learning strategies that help students reach their academic, social, and developmental goals.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
● Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with special needs in a school or educational setting
● Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and inclusive teaching practices
● Strong communication and collaboration skills
● Demonstrated compassion, patience, and commitment to student success
Preferred Qualifications
● Valid state teaching license or Special Education endorsement
● Experience working with K–12 students in a charter or public school setting

Elementary Teacher (K–6) School Year: 2026–2027
Position Summary
The Early Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-based instruction to students in grades K–6. This role creates a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports academic achievement, character development, and social-emotional growth. The Elementary Teacher works collaboratively with colleagues, instructional coaches, and administration to ensure all students are supported and challenged.

Position Summary
The Part-Time Instructional Coach supports K–12 teachers in improving instructional effectiveness, classroom management, and curriculum delivery. This role focuses on mentoring, observing, and providing actionable feedback to teachers in order to enhance student engagement and academic performance. The Instructional Coach works collaboratively with school leadership and faculty to promote best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Kindergarten Mentor (Full-Time) School Year: 2026–2027
Position Summary
The Kindergarten Mentor is a full-time support role that works directly with the Kindergarten Teacher to assist in delivering high-quality instruction and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment. This position supports student learning, classroom management, and daily operations to ensure all students receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Classroom Support
● Assist the Kindergarten Teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation
● Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts
● Support differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
● Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
● Complete training for and administer state mandated testing
Student Support
● Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students
● Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher
● Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate social skills
● Assist students with transitions, routines, and daily activities
Classroom Management
● Help maintain a structured, safe, and organized classroom environment
● Support behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher
● Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other assigned times
Collaboration
● Work closely with the Kindergarten Teacher to support lesson planning and classroom goals
