Part time Elementary STEM Specialist - Opening date 10/8/19

Description

Create music fun and/or facilitate math skill games with K-5 elementary students.

Qualifications

-Ability to work effectively as a team member, participate and become part of the team on an instructional, grade or school level

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist students in mastering concepts and standards for the purpose of deepening their knowledge as well as gaining and sharpening skills to become successful citizens in life.  In addition, we hope to create a staff who is willing to work together for the ultimate goal of what is best for students as unique individuals.


Part time Self Contained Special Education Mentor – opening date 2/11/2020

Description

Mentor will serve under the guidance of special education teacher, but will attend IEP Meetings, help write goals, collect and organize student data and complete progress reports. Fulfilling a leadership role within the self-contained classroom. While this list is broad, some duties may not be listed.

Qualifications

-Confer with general education teachers regarding the educational, social, emotional and physical needs and objectives of each student.

-Plan, develop and implement individualized education plans for each student.

-Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans according to Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).

-Monitor, evaluate and document each student's progress utilizing appropriate measurements and assessment devices. (Data collection.)

-Prepare timely progress reports for each student.

-Collaborate and consult with general school personnel regarding the implementation of the IEPs and special educational services.

-Maintain regular communication with parents by means of email, phone calls, conferences and progress reports.

-Assist parents with understanding and supporting educational objectives, learning expectations and behavioral standards.

-Ensure adherence to reasonable rules of classroom discipline and order to maintain a secure and effective learning environment.

-Manage student behavior through monitoring, supervising and assessing behavioral patterns.

-Utilize appropriate corrective methods to modify behavior.

-Develop and implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) where necessary.

-Instruct students on socially acceptable behaviors and personal development skills.

-Prepare special needs students for inclusion and transition to mainstream.

-Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with school district regulations and legal requirements.

-Maintain a current knowledge of special education best practices and trends.

-Direct schedule building for other mentors working in the classroom.

-Collaborate with regular education teachers to schedule inclusion time.

Full time - Secondary (7-12) Math and Language Arts Teacher - opening date 2/26/20  

 Qualifications

-Demonstrated expertise in the subject to be taught, as evidenced by personal skills and knowledge, an undergraduate major or minor or graduate degree in subject to be taught.

-Utah state teaching certification and any other applicable credentialing requirements.

-Demonstrate efficient communication skills.

-Posess the ability to experience and engage the interest of school-age children.

-Have the ability to work with and acknowledge children as unique individuals; be able to diversify in all aspects of working with children including those with special needs.

-Respect fellow teachers, co-workers, staff, administration and students within the school. 

-Teaching experience is preferred but not required.

-Ability to work well with parents, with respect and dignity, and encourage them to be partners in the educational and social success of their students.

-Ability to work effectively as a team member, participate and become part of the team on an instructional, grade or school level.

-Be willing to adjust instruction and ask for support as needed for each student based on their unique needs.

Full time - Child Nutrition Program Director – opening date 5/14/20

Description

Terra Academy strives to serve wholesome, from scratch, great tasting meals to our students. We are looking for someone who can lead a team of employees. Someone who has attention to detail, and is great with deadlines. The Kitchen Manager must be able to make fast decisions and can appropriately manage the stress of a fast paced workplace. Terra Academy follows the strict guidelines of the USDA. We are looking for someone who can be the lesion between the Kitchen Manager and the State Child Nutrition Program. You will need to be comfortable working the computer. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: Ensure that all guidelines are followed, prepare end of month records, processing claims, applying for grants and processing meal applications.

Qualifications

-Have experience in Child Nutrition or Food Service

-Pass a background check

-Have Food Handlers Permit

-Bachelor's or Associate's degree and at least one year experience in school nutrition program or High school Diploma or GED and at least 3 years experience in school nutrition program.


Substitute Sweeper - Opening date 5/26/2020

Description

-3pm-8pm

-Help with day to day cleaning operations; vacuuming, bathrooms, windows, etc.
